Affirm Merchant Help

Link a Bank Account

Affirm sometimes requires additional information to consider a credit application. An active checking account helps us to verify the customer's identity and ability to repay the requested loan.

If Affirms prompt a customer for this information but they are unable to provide it, Affirm is unable to approve the credit application.

Step 1: Input information

To avoid difficulty checking out, the customer must input consistent information that belongs to the same customer.

Step 2: Input PIN

Affirm texts a PIN to the mobile phone number that the customer provided.

Step 3: Choose bank provider

Step 4: Use bank-login credential to verify checking account

Step 5: Choose terms

Step 6: Enable autopay (optional)

A customer may enable autopay as soon as they choose their terms.

Step 7: Rerouting to merchant

The customer is redirected to the merchant's site, where they see a confirmation number that verifies their transaction. The customer concurrently receives an email confirmation and SMS text message from Affirm.
